What to Expect

Kinkakuji temple, the golden pavilion.

one of the most popular places to visit in Kyoto. The pavilion building is extremely unnatural, but it somehow matches the natural scenery.

Originally Built in the 14th century, this pavilion has a unique structure and stories behind its beauty.

Ryoanji Temple, the Zen rock garden.

This place has become very famous after the visit of Queen Elizabeth II.

Unlike other Japanese gardens, this is a dry garden consists of rock and sand.

Imagination is the key to enter the Japanese culture. I wonder what YOU see in this garden.

Gontaro, the delicious Udon or Soba noodle restaurant.

Udon(flour noodle) and soba(buckwheat noodle) has been very popular among Japanese people from the past.

My favourite is the Herring soba, which was originally born in Kyoto. Since Kyoto is surrounded by mountains, it was difficult to eat fresh seafood in the past. So they used preserved herring and ate with the soba to obtain enough nutrition.

Nijo Castle, Where the age of Samurai ended.

This castle was the residence for the Tokugawa Shogun, the head Samurai on his visit to Kyoto.

This is the very place where the age of Samurai ended before the modernization.

You can enjoy fabulous artwork in the original castle building from 400 years ago.

Gion, the flower district where Maiko lives

The street along Gion is lined with many souvenir shops, restaurants and coffee shops.

You can enjoy shopping and the traditional atmosphere of the Gion streets, and if you are lucky enough, you might see Geiko and Maiko dressed in pretty Kimono.

The itinerary can be changed by your request. Please feel free to contact me.

A great use of time and a very professional guide.

We were in town for a conference and our sightseeing time was somewhat limited. I am so glad we were able to find Fuhito, as he made the full day packed with some of the best arts, culture, dining, history, and just a great day. Fuhito was able to add tremendous value by sharing the whole story of the many sights we visited. We felt like we were getting the inside scoop as he toured us around.

Perfect way to spend a day at Kyoto - getting around with Fuhito san

Fuhito san speaks perfect English, and is a very professional, friendly tour guide with a deep knowledge about the area. I highly reccommend to book his time slot if you are planning to spend some time in Kyoto, especially if your visit is for the very first time like us - Even though we contacted him on the day before the arrival, he was able to schedule and manage the perfect sightseeing plan which we truly enjoyed. Thank you so much Fuhito san, we look foward to seeing you by chance again!
