It takes about 15-20min. walking to get to the top of the mountain, where you can buy treats for monkeys and feed them by hand!!

In addition to the monkeys, the harmony of Kyoto city and the colors of the mountains are breathtakingly beautiful especially in the spring and fall.
Beside monkey mountains, a stroll around Togetsu Bridge shopping and enjoying local street food, and the famous Bamboo Groves is so relaxing, it will make you forget about your hectic everyday life.

Makoon is a wonderful guide of Kyoto with deep knowledge of the history and popular culture. We enjoyed our time with him very much. Especially the visit to the zen temple and Ishari shrine!
