This 2-hour walking tour of Cambridge will delight and amaze you. Here's a question: What do atomic research, the translation of the Bible, dental care, the speed of sound, Romantics poetry, night climbing and an anti-slavery campaign have in common? Answer: Cambridge people have played an important and influential role in either their creation, research or application. You will also learn about traditions in sport and music, and even pranks and jokes which relate to the university and the city.

Introduction: Origins and development from provincial trading post to world-known university city.
We shall hear about two important anti-slavery campaign leaders of the past, a possessive queen mother, a champion of the environment and an intellectual pioneer in an Asian country.
A large college associated with government rulers from many countries and a vast number of Nobel Prize winners. The king who founded it couldn't have imagined that one day even an apple would bring a great result.
This central spot of Cambridge has witnessed the making and breaking of physical objects and man-made rules by male and female pioneers.
As we walk on King's Parade, there it is: King's College Chapel, the most iconic building in Cambridge. Extraordinarily beautiful, this 500-year-old architectural masterpiece continues to amaze people today as when it was first built. Very near the Chapel we shall stop by a clock of unusual and scary features, so get ready to be surprised.
A place for a last drink before going on war duty and where a very important scientific discovery was announced. Less than 200 metres away is the location of a laboratory where many discoveries which have changed your life and mine were made.
At this college, the third oldest in Cambridge, the chapel was built by one of England's most famous architects and in its beautiful gardens you see a tropical tree which you would not expect to find in England.
We finish at Market Square, near many shops and eating places.

I went on the CS Lewis tour and it was a great experience. Would highly recommend taking any tour with this guide, as he is very knowledgeable and conversational! My only regret is that I only had time to do one tour!
Thank you. It was a pleasure to show you how Cambridge has links with C S Lewis. Feel free to come on another tour next time you come to Cambridge!
Manuel was a most excellent tour guide! He was knowledgeable, accommodating, informative and an excellent communicator. I would recommend him to anyone and look forward to returning to Cambridge with my husband and touring with Manuel again.
