"Sea of Trees" known as Aoki-gahara Jukai, have been created by eruptions of side volcano of Fujiyama (Mt. Fuji) in 9th century. Eruptions destroyed old rich forest and had filled the land with lava. The oldest trees generated on the lava are estimated back 300 years, meaning current mysterious Sea of Trees is still relatively young forest. In this mysterious forest, some say compass mal-functioned and others say compass completely broken. In this Sea of Trees, we are able to see lots of caves like bat cave, wind cave and ice cave, created by the same volcanic activities.

1. See beautiful forest known as Sea of Forests on lava with thin soil layer

2. Explore three caves. Saiko Bat Cave, Fugaku Fuketsu (Fugaku Wind Cave) and Narusawa Ice Cave and visit another Ryugu Cave.

3. Understand Mt. Fuji activities

Loved our time with Yuji!

We really loved our time with Yuji. Before the trip, he was very attentive and will reach out to us to make suggestions etc. During the actual day (Christmas Day), he paid special attention to us and made the entire experience pleasant and enjoyable. Thanks so much Yuji!!

A hike to remember

Yuji was awesome! He spoke great English and though their were eight of us he was very patient. He guided us up Mt. Fuji. In our group we had a couple that were having a hard time with the hike/ climb but he remained patient with us all. He also gave pointers for those struggling on how to breathe and properly utilize the oxygen and walking sticks. He also gave us heads up on upcoming changes in the terrain. As we descended through the typhoon he continued to motivate everyone until we made it safely back to the 5th station where we began. Thanks again for a great experience!

Yuji K.

Dear Blanca Thank for the review. It is just like yesterday. I still have vivid memories. It was unfortunate for us with the stormy weather on day 2. I just wished we could make it to the top, though. It must have been the once in the lifetime event. Thank you again for having booked with me. Yuji

Great Tour of Mt. Fuji & Aokigahara Forest

From the very beginning of the booking process, Yuji has been amazing. Beyond quick to respond to any questions/concerns I may have, he was always available to give feedback. As we got closer to the tour date, we knew weather might be a problem given it's rainy season in Japan but he was flexible in just seeing how the weather was morning of in case we needed to make alternative plans. With our luck, the weather cooperated with us and was sunny throughout and we were able to get a great view of Mt. Fuji as we drove up to the 5th Station. Yuji was very patient answering all of our questions and taking all the various group photos we wanted. He had great English and we felt we learned a lot from spending the day with him, not only about the places we saw but about some parts of the Japanese culture overall.

Yuji K.

Dear Kirstin, Thank you again for having booked with me and I actually am glad we were blessed with the weather. It was good you were able to see Mt. Fuji, closer view from 5th station. We were able to cover very essences of the area from both cultural and natural sides. There are so much to see in the area. We could not go to two more lakes and I would add that they are beautiful as well. You may have added Mt. Fuji climbing for your future list and you can well prepare for that. When you can make it to the top. your heart will be filled with joy, excitement, and satisfaction. Nature is often severe but when you overcome, you feel super great. I hope you enjoy the rest days in Japan. Just one day but it was a great day for me especially when you mention you have learned a lot. Say hello to Chris and Stacy. Yuji

Rainy Day in Mt Fuji area

We had a lovely day with Yuji. It is the rainy season and we had some rain but we only opened our umbrellas once so we actually were lucky. Yuji took us around all 5 lakes at the base of Mt Fuji and to a beautiful shrine. He was very knowledgeable about the area. Lunch was amazing at a very traditional Japanese restaurant. I think we were the only foreigners there. Great experience. I would definitely recommend Yuji.

Yuji K.

Dear Margit,, It was not a perfect day to enjoy the area. However, I am glad that you had some fun even in the rain. I have changed all plans due to the weather with your agreement but that could have been the best I could do to make your day valuable. I just hope you felt Mt. Fuji so close, though you were not able to see it directly. Please enjoy the rest of stay in Japan. You will definitely see more wonders of this country for days to come. Yuji
